At Il Était un Fil, everything begins with an emotion.

A recurring desire. A silhouette I imagine. A sensation I want to find in a bag, but cannot quite encounter anywhere else.

When I design a new model, I naturally think about the leather, the proportions, the lines, the braiding. But all that comes later. The first thread is always more instinctive: what do I want to feel while carrying this bag? And what do I actually need in my life today?

Gigi was born exactly like that.

At a very particular moment in my life, when my days as a creator and entrepreneur met those of a young mother. A stroller, a baby, appointments, errands, a thousand things to think about… and always the same desire to remain myself, to keep dressing the way I love, and to keep objects with character around me.

I wanted lightness. Freedom. A bag that leaves my hands free when I need it to, that holds my true essentials, and that remains sophisticated enough to complement a beautiful silhouette.
